Rajon Rondo to Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks acquired Rondo along with rookie power forward Dwight Powell from the Celtics in exchange for center Brandan Wright, point guard Jameer Nelson, small forward Jae Crowder, a protected first-round pick, a second-round pick and a $12.9 million trade exception in a deal finalized Thursday night. Rajon Rondo is a proven champion. Good a time as any to make this trade for a strong push into the playoffs!
The five Rams players
The five Rams players who entered the field before Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders in St. Louis with their hands in the air in “don’t shoot” poses will not be fined for their actions. “As far as the choice that the players made, no, they were exercising their right to free speech,” Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Monday. “They will not be disciplined by the club nor will they be disciplined by the National Football League as it was released today.”The players had used the team’s pregame introductions to offer a show of support for protesters in nearby Ferguson. As the Rams’ offense was introduced, tight end Jared Cookand receivers Kenny Britt, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens and Tavon Austin stopped near the tunnel and raised their hands in a nod to the fatal shooting of black teenager Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9. Some witnesses said Brown had his hands up before being shot. Wilson, who is white, testified to the grand jury that Brown had hit him and reached for his gun.
Jeff Fisher said it best, that the NFL players didn’t do anything wrong by coming out of the tunnel with their hands up. Only the racist people in the NFL were upset and wanted the pro players to give an apology to the police department! The divide in America is so serious that it has entered into the Sports world. There is a legitimate concern about how often cops kill young black men.
